IF YOU NEED ANY HELP WITH THIS PROGRAM LET ME KNOW I WILL BE HAPPY TO HELP.

P.S I WILL BE MAKING MORE PROJECTS ON HOW TO BUILD DIFFERENT GAMES AND ONLINE AND 3-D GAMES ALSO. PLEASE RATE THIS PLEASE RATE THIS PLEASE RATE THIS PLEASE RATE THIS ALSO IF YOU HAVE USED THIS AND WANT ME TO MAKE ANOTHER PLEASE LET ME KNOW

Step 1: This is the main interface of the game software

Picture of this is the main interface of the game software

ALL OBJECTS BKGROUND AND ROOM DEF.bmp
OK this is only the first bit but the full project will be on a power point for you to download this week so please dont be leaving comments saying this instructable is rubbish or saying there is no information on it. it takes a few hours to make the game and even longer for me to explain it. i will try to finish it as soon as possible.

THE NEXT STEP WILL SHOW YOU HOW TO MAKE A VERY SIMPLE GAME.''

Step 2: A very simple game

Picture of a very simple game

balll.bmp
First we have to add sprites( these are images that will appear in the game) to add a sprite
1.right click on the sprite folder and click add.
2.a box will appear and you need to click on load.
3.chose an image for the game bored. (a gray block looks best for this game)

do the same again only instead of adding a gray block add a picture of a ball or another picture that you want. the ones you get free with game maker are best. i used a small football in one of the sprite folders.
1. right click on sprites again and click add.
2.load another image of a ball
3.now there should be 2 images in the sprites folder.

Step 3: Adding a background

Picture of adding a background
Now we are going to chose a background for our game level. this game is only going to have one level so using a simple background is best. to add a background it is the same as a sprite.
1.right click on the background folder and click add
2.load a background and press ok

Step 4: Adding an object

Picture of Adding an object
Now it is the harder bit of game making..... we have to give each sprite a command to follow, only if you use game maker 6.1 you dont need to know any sort of codes. on game maker there is simple buttons that you can use instead of commands. first right click on objects and click add, then a box will appear, where it says "" click the tiny blue button beside it and a drop down menu will appear with all the sprites you loaded in them. chose the one that you want to be the level ball(or the object you chose instead). then click "add event" then another box with multiple options will appear. click "create" there will be a little bulb beside it. when you click this there will be other options on the right side of the objects box. look for one that is alot of red arrows pointing in different directions. it is the first button on the move tab on the right side.
when another box opens with arrows that you can click on, click on them all and put the speed to 3 and click relative at the bottom and click ok.DONT CLICK ON THE MIDDLE STOP BUTTON it should look like my image below.

Step 5: Adding the next object ( the wall)

Picture of adding the next object ( the wall)
again right click on the objects and click add , this time when you are choosing a sprite choose the wall (the gray block). below where the sprite name is click on solid, so now it should be solid and visible now click ok and move onto the next step.

Step 6: Making different objects interact (make the ball bounce off the wall)

Picture of making different objects interact (make the ball bounce off the wall)
now double click on the ball object to open its properties again. click add event and select "collision" and pick the wall sprite then on the side menu chose the movement again click all the arrows apart from the stop middle button, change the speed to 0 and tick the relative box then click ok

Step 7: Collision with mouse

Picture of collision with mouse

score.bmp
Now click on add event on the same object, click on mouse, a drop down menu will appear, click "left button". in the side menu click on the movement command we have been using, click all the boxes again apart from the stop button, in speen type +2 and tick the relative box and click ok, it should look like my screen shot. this means when you click on the ball it will gain more speed.

If you want to add a score board follow these instructions:
1.add a new event
2.click "other" in the event menu
3.click "game start" in the "other" event menu
4.in the tabs at the side of the object box that says move, main1 ,main2 etc.. click score
5.look at the second pictures on this instructable and find both the commands, one that is a small white box saying "slh" and drag that into the menu
6.add the first command in that tab and set the score to 0 and tick the relative box, it is a small gray box with 3 yellow circles in it.

Step 8: Score board and point system

Picture of score board and point system

start.bmp
now we need to command the points.
1. goto the mouse command you made earlier in the ball object(left button)
2.click on the score tab and the first command button again, it is the square with the yellow circles in it.
3. type in the box that appears +10 and then tick relative and click ok.

now when you click on the ball it will get faster and also add 10 to the score.

You may notice when you play the game that when the ball gets too fast it can some times fly out of the room. to prevent this add a new event and click "key pressed" then click on "" and when you do this click on the move tab then find a button called "jump to start" look at my second screen shot. this means if the ball goes out of the level press space bar and it will return to the middle of the level.

Step 9: ROOMS(the level)

Picture of ROOMS(the level)
Ok now the very easy bit, making the level, first right click on the rooms folder, click add room, the level editing box will appear,
click the background tab
look down the screen for a box saying "foreground image"
do not change that, look below it and click and it should show your background you choose
then go back to the first tab on the rooms folder (the tab is called objects)
then select the wall, cover the whole border of the level with it like mine in the screen shot
place the ball in the middle of the map
press ok
save the file
press F5 to start the game

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL LEAVE ME COMMENTS OR MESSAGES,'' I WILL BE HAPPY TO HELP,
P.S SORRY IF THE GUIDE IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND BUT IT IS CONFUSING TO EXPLAIN

Step 10: APRIL FOOLS PART contest (THIS BIT IS ONLY OPTIONAL TO SCARE PEOPLE THAT ARE PLAYING THE GAME)

Picture of APRIL FOOLS PART contest<more advanced> (THIS BIT IS ONLY OPTIONAL TO SCARE PEOPLE THAT ARE PLAYING THE GAME)
If you want to scare(funny more than scary) people with this game you could add in a scary voice and image to appear when the score is equal to 30 by right clicking on the ball object and adding a new event called step and in it copy what i have in my print screen.
Next get a scream sound and add it to the sounds folder and get another scary image sprite.
make a new object and chose the scary image sprite and add and event called create and in that use the "play sound" command and chose the scary sound.

RESULTS
this means when the game score is 30 a scary image will appear and scream. it is more funny than scary.

How to Get People to Read Your Blog

Chances are people are not reading your blog, but it's not because they don’t like you or your blog - most likely they don’t even know you exist. You're lost in a soup of a gazillion websites, blogs, and other publications. How can you make your blog shine above the rest? Scroll past the jump to learn how to get more people reading and following your blog.

Method 1 of 2: Using Social Methods to Create Interest
Get People to Read Your Blog Step 1.jpg

1

Interact with other blogs. This helps create relationships with both the blogger whose blog you're interacting with and the people who follow that blog.
  • Make interesting, relevant comments on popular blogs. This will spark curiosity about your blog, and you may be able to pull followers.
  • Respond to every comment someone leaves on your blog. You want the person who is responding to your entry to feel welcomed, respected and deserving of attention. This will make them more likely to talk about and share your blog with other people.
  • Find blogs similar to yours to interact with - liked minded individuals will want to see your view on the interest you share.
  • Respond to popular, topical articles or blog posts on your own blog. People like to see how writers interact with each other and will be interested to see how you responded to someone whose opinion they care about.
Get People to Read Your Blog Step 2.jpg
2
Cross blog! Simply share an entry from one of your blogs with another one of your blogs - either by providing a link or copy and pasting, or both. This is a great way to get multiple audiences interested in your material.
  • If you have more than one blog, cross post entries from the blog you want to become popular to your most popular blog. The people who follow you on one may begin to follow you on the other.
  • If you don't have more than one blog, consider creating another blog or two with different blogging programs - even if you end up just creating a replica of your original blog.
  • There are different sets of audiences who swear by different blogging programs. You can access these different bloggers and their followers by using as many blogging programs as possible to publish your entries.
Get People to Read Your Blog Step 3.jpg
3
Submit your posts and links to your blog on tools like forums, discovery engines, peer-sourced news feeds and social networking sites. This is very natural way to create interest in your blog among bloggers and non-bloggers alike.
  • The goal here is similar to cross blogging - get your content out on as many venues as possible.
  • Consider using your personal social media accounts and email signatures to get people who are already connected to you connected to your blog.
Get People to Read Your Blog Step 4.jpg
4
Write great headlines and subject lines. If people see an entry with a truly eye-catching lead, they're more likely to read it than something that seems dull or dry.
  • Consider how headlines affect the likelihood that someone will click on a cross posted or shared link. Interesting headlines and subject lines are essential to successfully gathering interest through third parties.
Get People to Read Your Blog Step 5.jpg
5
Step back and analyze your blog as objectively as possible. Does your blog look poorly put together? And have people seen it a thousand times before? Are your images relevant to your topic? Content may be king, but if you present it in a bad way people just won’t read it.
  • Avoid small fonts, lousy contrast, poor design and difficult to read colors – they’re all turnoffs. Looks are important; first impressions last.
  • Make sure your blog is properly functioning. There are too many blogs with dead links, plugins that bug out, and other problems.
  • Clear out the clutter. Less is always more. No amount of widgets or other “cool things” will keep a person interested in your blog. It may even distract them away from your writing. Direct them to your content in an interesting and streamlined way.
  • Make sure you have a little introduction or indication of what your blog is about near the top of your blog's home page. This way people will know if your blog is relevant to what they're interested in. If you write it well enough, you may even convert people to your interests.
Get People to Read Your Blog Step 6.jpg
6
Stay consistent. Don't lose followers because you failed to update for a while, or changed the theme of your blog unexpectedly.
  • If you're finding it hard to update at least weekly, look at similar blogs to yours and find entries that created a lot of comments. Lots of comments means that this person wrote about a controversial topic and you can use your response to someone else's blog as a foundation for your own entry.
  • If you want to post something unusual given the theme of your blog, consider mentioning that and posting it under a link instead - your followers will appreciate that you're thinking about their time and interest.
Method 2 of 2: Using Search Engine Optimization
Get People to Read Your Blog Step 7.jpg
1
Research search engine optimization, also known as SEO. SEO is a strategy that web developers use to increase the likelihood that someone will find their site in a search.
  • There are both complex and simple ways to optimize your blog for search engines. Read up on how other people do this and decide what strategy will work for your skill level, your needs and your content.
Get People to Read Your Blog Step 8.jpg
2
Consider manipulating your content to include more key words. The most popular way to increase your search engine ranking is to make sure you're using the words that people are looking for.
  • Take on the perspective of your potential audience. Search some things related to your blog topic on a few search engines and see what sites are popping up on the first page. Read those sites carefully - what words seem to be in every paragraph, what words continually reappear in subject lines?
Get People to Read Your Blog Step 9.jpg
3
Link to popular blogs you like and websites relevant to your topic. Make allies, try to convince them to link to your blog over time.
  • Share the link to your blog frequently. The more people click on your link, and the more closely related your blog seems to other popular websites, the more likely it is to show up on a search engine.

Tips

  • As you explore the blogosphere, pay attention to what works and doesn't work on other people's blogs - replicate the good, avoid the bad.
  • Be true to your interests, so that your writing reflects your passion. Failing a passion for the topic, at least have a system in place to make it appear that you are deeply engaged with it, one in which you show that you've done the research and know your stuff. If you can't reflect a genuine or well-informed interest, readers will stop reading.
  • If you blog is about a certain metropolitan area, come up with clever ways to create interest outside the internet. Try making stickers to leave at the corner store, or your local coffee shop.

Preparation

You will need the following before you can begin using MEd:

About: A tutorial showing the use of the map editor

Tutorial

Map Editor (MEd) is a great tool with lots of abilities. It allows you to make your own maps for III/VC or SA in a short time.
I'll explain you now only the basics. It the future I want to extend this tutorial.

Step 1

First of all, you've to install your MEd. When you've launched it, you got this:
Usingmed1.jpg
  • Click on Browse and select you gta directory.
  • Click on Next to load the files.

Step 2

When loading is done, you got a screen with lots of abilities. I'll explain you more about these functions in this tutorial. First we have to load some parts of the land into the editor. It isn't recommended to load more than two IPLs at the same time.
So go to the tab "Visible Files" and select an IPL to load.
Usingmed2.jpg
When you can see something of the map, you can move around. You can see the controls in the left-bottom of the screen.
There's also an option to change your view mode. You can choose between Player view and Topdown.
When you view is f*cked up you can hit the "Reset view" button.
If you want to zoom in/out, click on the buttons with the magnify glass. You can also do this with W and S or the scrollwheel on your mouse.
When you've moved around a little, you can go to the next step.

Step 3

Now we have to select the IPL where we go store our new object. You can make a new IPL, or you can add them to a existing IPL. I choosed for the last option.
Go to the tab "Item Placement" and select an IPL' to store your object into.
Usingmed3.jpg
You can see now all the object that are already stored in this IPL.
To add you own object, click "New"

Step 4

When you've clicked on "New", you see the itembrowser. Here you can select the object that you want to place into your map.
Usingmed4.jpg
You can see a preview on the display right. When you've selected a object, Click "OK".

Step 5

I've selected a tree and it's now in the map. You've also seen that there appeared a new window.
Basicmap5.jpg
First click on "Center on Object". Now you can see your object.
Decide a place where you want to place your object. You can move your object around with your mouse or with the+/- buttons.
You can rotate your object with the movement bars.
If you do something wrong, click on the "Undo" button.
When your object is on the right place, click "Apply".

Step 6

The only thing what you've to do now is save the IPL. Select your IPL (if the IPL isn't select anymore) and hit "Save File".
Basicmap6.jpg

Result

Now close MEd and start your GTA. If you did nothing wrong, you got something like this:
Usingmed7.jpg
I hope you liked this tutorial. More tutorials about this tool will appear soon. See you next time!
